USCIS to Waive Interviews for Conditional Resident Applicants

November 28, 2022.  In April 2022, USCIS updated its policy and adopted a risk-based strategy in waiving interviews for applicants with applications to remove conditions on their permanent residence status.  These applicants with pending I-751 applications can now expect to avoid the inconvenience of an interview as long as their cases present no issues.

With that in mind, USCIS will only waive an interview for those applications with enough evidence of the authenticity of marriage, no fraud or misinterpretation of any supporting documents, and lastly, no criminal records.

The goal of this policy is to increase processing times and eliminate delays while still maintaining the integrity of the office to identify fraud and scams.
